Welcome Kits for Nutrition Cluster Partners

Welcome Kits for Nutrition Cluster Partners

We offer two specialised welcome kits for nutrition cluster partners. The In-country Onboarding Kit serves as a comprehensive tool for national cluster coordination teams to welcome new partners or brief team members at the country level. The Global Engagement Kit provides global partners with the tools to support the work of the GNC and engage in strategic decision-making.

What will my roles and responsibilities be within the cluster?

Choose the Right Welcome Kit for Your Role

Nutrition Cluster partners encompass organisations, groups, individuals, and entities dedicated to Nutrition in Emergencies, and committed to upholding core humanitarian principles. They actively support the mission to strengthen humanitarian nutrition responses through coordinated efforts that promote predictability, accountability, and partnership.

Global partners shape GNC’s strategic vision and include International Non-Governmental Organisations (INGOs), research institutions, academic bodies, UN agencies, donors, and individuals. At the national level, partners primarily consist of local authorities, NGOs, and community organisations working together to meet the needs of affected populations through a coordinated response.

To support our partners’ diverse roles, GNC offers two tailored welcome kits. Both kits aim to equip partners for active, meaningful engagement in nutrition coordination activities, and their use is highly encouraged.

1. Onboarding Kit for National Cluster Coordination Teams

National nutrition cluster teams play a crucial role in involving local and national actors in cluster coordination. Welcoming new partners and equipping them with essential information fosters their long-term, meaningful participation.

The In-country Onboarding Kit is designed to support this in two ways. First, it provides resources in various formats to welcome new country-level partners –such as videos, presentations, handbooks, and eLearning modules– allowing teams to choose the most effective way to deliver and contextualise information for specific audiences. Second, it serves as an ongoing reference for team members, outlining their roles, responsibilities, and engagement opportunities.

All the resources in the In-country Onboarding Kit are available on our eLearning platform, GNC Learn, where you can also find specific eLearning modules about Humanitarian Coordination and the Cluster Approach.

2. The Engagement Kit for Global Partners

The GNC relies on diverse international partnerships to bolster humanitarian nutrition efforts worldwide, with invaluable support from UN agencies, INGOs, academia, research institutions, and donors. As a collective, the GNC aims to enhance the effectiveness of humanitarian responses by fostering greater predictability, accountability, and partnership through coordinated efforts. For these partnerships to thrive, it is essential for all involved to understand the GNC’s strategic vision, organisational structure, and the specific role they play within the collaboration.

The Global Engagement Kit equips global partners with resources to fully understand the value of coordination, grasp their roles in fulfilling the GNC Strategy, and actively engage in strategic decision-making. Additionally, it supports partners in promoting programmatic innovation and advancing guidance that transcends individual organisational boundaries.
